My blogging experience

I've never been a person of social networks. I dont like sharing the things I do, who I do them with, what I like or what I don't like. I prefer people get know each other by talking face to face or that people know what I do or don't by asking or talking maybe by a more personal social net. It's because of that that I almost never post something in facebook or a web page like that. The only social network I use is whatsapp because I feel it is for people that I know better or people who I'm confident with.

Personaly I've never wanted to write a blog but I always wanted to know how could I create one. I found really nice this experience because I knew how can I make a blog. Now that I know what I wanted to I don't think I come back to write again, because, as I said, I don't like this stuff. But maybe I’m going to say good bye in this blog because I’m going to close it later.

I feel this experience also has brought an improvement of my writing skills, I'm not good at writing in English so I believe it was a chance to develop and practice the use of it and improve.

Nanotechnology

I choose nanotechnology because I found so interesting the applications and the improves that it gives us in the medicine area. I believe I’d like to work in something related to medicine and is because of it I like this specific term.
The first time I heard about nanotechnology was when I was like eleven years because a teacher talked about it, Believed it was imposible because he size was so little, but it wasn't like I though.

Nanotechnology is a part of science that allow build thing in the Nano scale. This size allows us work with atoms, molecules and cellules.

There are two kind of nanotechnology, the wet nanotechnology which works with biological systems and dry nanotechnology works with non live systems, this could be physics and chemist systems. Some

techniques used in nano world are:

Bottom-up. This is used in molecular nanotechnology.
Top-down. This is about building useful things in nanoscale.
Computing nanotechnology : This is about designing things buit in nano world.

This kind of technology could be useful in my carrer dependig about the specialization I will. Nanotechnology is used in nourish industry, it also can be used in medicine, becoming it in nanomedicine. For this areas is used a material called carbon nanotubes and other called ceramic nano structured.

This technology could be used in agricultural production, diagnostic in medicine, food processing, construction, control of pests , fabrics or computing.

Some disadvantages this technology could have are the used of this technology by terrorist or criminals, also this technology could be used as a gun in war, environment and more.

The most enjoyable subject thus far

The subject I like most is also the one which I stress most. My favorite subject in this term is “laboratory’s techniques”. This subject is a mix between practical and theoretical classes, and we  have this subject with chemistry students. First we have theoretical classes an later have a practical classes about what we saw in the previous theoretical class.

I like this subject because I have practical classes and it is great because I had never had a practical class before . I like this subject because this class is about applying the knowledge I get in the chemistry classes and all the formulas I learn by memory to solve chemistry problems makes sense.I also like it because it is a continuing challenge, I learn new things in all classes and I have to put in practice these new knowledges and obviously, understand what I have to do with it.

In this subject I have to do different things in all classes, each class is a new challenge, I love that. In the theoretical class a teacher tell us about what we’ll make the next practical class, we are like  80 people in the classroom but in the practical class we are divided in gaps of 20 people by an alphabetical order. In the practical class a teacher explain us what we’ll do. The practical classes I like most are the distillation class and the extraction class.

Who is a person or expert on your field that you admire?

Is much difficult for me to choose a person to admire of my area, I admire many people but of different areas, not mine. Choose one person was complicated because I ain't admire researchers much I just believe that what they have done is great, and that makes my expectations for me as a future investigator being great.

When we was in a English class, the teacher once gave us a little piece of paper, a classmate took one of them that has the name "Rosalind Franklin"written on it. I didn't know who she was so I decided to investigate her to know.
Since that moment I started liking and  admiring her.

She studied  the Natural Sciences Tripos at Newnham College. Later she went to Paris as a post-doctoral researcher, at the Laboratoire Central des Services Chimiques de l'Etat, where she became an accomplished X-ray crystallographer. Then she  worked on X-ray diffraction studies,  at King's College Londonwhich would eventually facilitate the double helix theory of the DNA.Rosalind Franklin (1920-1958) was an English chemist and X-ray crystallographer. She made many contributions like the molecular structures of   DNA      (deoxyribonucleic acid),  RNA (ribonucleic acid),  viruses,  coal, and graphite.
After finishing her work on DNA, Franklin led pioneering work at Birkbeck on the molecular structures of viruses.

She is best known for her work on the X-ray diffraction images of DNA while at King's College in  London. This discovery of the DNA double helix allow James WatsonFrancis Crick and Maurice Wilkins shared the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1962.

I believe I admire her because of the discoveries she made in diferent areas of sciencie and her important contributions  to it that have an effect on it till now. I also admire her because, although her most important contribution to science wasn't recognized at all, she went on investigating almost till she died.
